Green Sky Cold & Hot Desserts @ Redhill Food Centre

Owner of this shop Lim Bok Ann have been around for 30 years now serving great desserts in Singapore!
Offering a wide range of local delicacies at a cheap rate!

At first, I didn't really knew what to have, so I asked him for recommendations. He mentioned his tau suan was the "hot" selling one and also joked along with it, great sense of humor indeed.

As good as it looks, the taste was even better.
Equipped with a strong fragrance of pandan coming from the bowl, everything seemed perfect when tasting 1 mouthful of the mung beans. It was also thick and not too sweet.
Rating : 4.5 / 5

Not to mention that Cheng Teng was one of my favorite dessert dish, I decided to go for another round, ordering the cold Cheng Teng!

And yet again, I was surprised how it turned out to be. Even with the shaved ice, it went perfectly well with the soup of the Cheng Teng, giving out a seamlessly nice taste with the right amount of sweetness.
Rating : 4.5 / 5.0

Upon reaching there, no matter in daylight, dusk or even night, you can never miss out his stall. Equipped with a LCD TV playing cartoons like Finding Nemo and Mickey Mouse in front of his stall, the stall will turn out spectacular at night with disco lightings.
Not to mention that he also dances to high-tempo techno remix music while making desserts! Yes he really do! And he enjoys it along with the customer's laughter and happiness.
Words will not describe his actions, if you do have the time, I recommend you to check out the live action yourself!
Atmosphere : 4.0 / 5.0 --> Mostly long queue and packed with people at night.

Island Creamery @ Holland Village

Mudpie with Teh Tarik Ice Cream

Featured: Teh Tarik Ice Cream

Hope you readers had a great weekend. Here's another post on desserts! Recently, I had a sweet tooth and was craving for some ice cream. Due to its local flavoured ice creams, it reminded me of Island Creamery. Island creamery is a well known ice cream shop to many young adults. They have 4 outlets in singapore mainly, King Albert Park, Serene Centre, Holland Village and Great World City.
Firstly, the Teh Tarik Ice cream is a must try, it has a similar taste to the local milk tea. It is not too bitter or too sweet. Accompanying that is the mudpie. I love the mudpie because of its cookies and cream ice cream with oreo bits on sprinkle on top. Everything that goes with oreo will taste nice. The chunky bits of oreo in the mudpie made it even more appetizing together with the caramel ice cream. Well, I must say the ice cream tastes heavenly! I'll rate the Teh Tarik Ice Cream a 4.5/5 and the mudpie a 4/5.

Mei Heong Yuen Dessert @ Temple Street

Mango with Pomelo and Sago -$4.00

Black Sesame Paste - $3.00

Hey there! This is another exciting post on traditional hot and cold chinese dessert. As you can see from the photos, the Mango with Pomelo and Sago has a rich and dense taste. The dessert has a thick paste and the sweetness is just right. Not to mention the Pomelo which is a little sour helps to neutralise the sweetness of the mango. This dessert is highly recommended. I'll rate it 4.5/5.

Besides, the black sesame paste wasn't disappointing as well. If you are a person who is health conscious then this is the kind of dessert you would go for. The black sesame has its health benefits such as to regrow one's hair from grey to black. It has a thick taste as well and more of a brown rice taste. It doesn't have a burnt taste unlike most of the black sesame taste i have tasted elsewhere. Well, I must say this is the kind of hot dessert you would like to go for during a cold and chilly rainy day. I'll rate this a 3.8/5.
